Na No Wri Mo

Good Monday morning all readers and writers. As many people know, today is the first day of National Novel Writing Month. For those who are unfamiliar, National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) is a non profit organization based in the United States, that works to promote creative writing world wide. The program starts on November first, and encourages participants to start a 50,000 word manuscript over the course of the month of November.

This year, I have decided to participate. I am not going to fib, I only learned of this program about a month ago. But as I have loosely worked on different writing projects and very inconsistently, I thought that this would push me to develop a consistency in my writing, if nothing else. I have several goals that I am hoping to reach this month, and my goal is 50,000 words total across all platforms. I am putting this here as a way to help me stay consistent and accountable for my goals.

First, I am making a personal goal to work on my blogs each day. I have this one and two others, and I wish to write a post each day for the month of November on at least one of the blogs. I have slacked on this one for years, providing a blog post every few months, and my others also receive the same attentiveness.

Second, I am making a goal to write in my personal journal each day. This is something that I struggle with, and often make excuses for why I am going to let it slide that day. I have been working on consistency with this, as it is beneficial to me and my mental health to write everything down that has happened through out the day and to help me process my day and my thoughts. I hope to make this a daily habit and go from there.

Third, I will be going to work on my project, and I hope to write at least one hour each day. Right now, I am not focusing on word count for my project, just making consistent time and effort each day to write and work on it.

I would love to know and hear about your projects. Is anyone else participating in NaNoWriMo this year? If so, what are your goals? How long have you been working on your project?

Love and hugs,

Tiff
